Charlie Lowrie — Sports Physiotherapist & Performance Coach

Who We Are

Where Performance Meets Practice

Charlie is a sports physiotherapist working in professional sport while maintaining private practices rooted in individualised care. Currently First Team Physiotherapist at Leeds Rhinos and an MSK Physiotherapist in Burley in Wharfedale and Bingley, he brings together the demands of high-level performance and the reality of day-to-day rehabilitation.

What drives the work is seeing athletes navigate setbacks and return stronger. Sport shapes how rehabilitation is understood and delivered. Not just as a job, but as something genuinely invested in. Lowrie Performance exists to make high-performance principles accessible to anyone serious about their training and recovery.

Background & Qualifications

Built on Evidence & Experience

He holds an MSc in Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University and a BSc (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Therapy from Leeds Beckett University. Charlie is currently completing a PG Cert in Advanced Musculoskeletal Management, having already finished the Advanced Musculoskeletal Management of the Lower Limb module. Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP), his practice is grounded in both academic rigour and professional accountability.

Career Path

Shaped By Elite Environments

Currently working full-time as First Team Physiotherapist at Leeds Rhinos, managing injury and performance preparation with professional athletes in a high-pressure, results-driven environment. Alongside this, working as an MSK Physiotherapist in private practices in Burley in Wharfedale and Bingley, delivering hands-on assessment and structured rehabilitation for athletes and active individuals.

Background includes two years in NHS musculoskeletal services, where clinical reasoning was built across a diverse caseload. Prior roles include working part-time as Academy Physiotherapist at Leeds United Football Club, supporting youth development, and serving as Team Physiotherapist for Team GB American Football, managing international competition-day care.

Each role has shaped a clear understanding: rehabilitation is not about removing symptoms. It is about rebuilding capacity, confidence, and the ability to perform under pressure.

Why This Matters

Helping Athletes Return Stronger

The work is driven by a real investment in seeing athletes navigate setbacks and come back stronger. Sport is more than a professional context. It shapes how rehabilitation is understood and delivered.
